This is a true Alaskan Auction! For those of you following our blog/auction from other (warmer) parts of the world, we live in an area where not all homes have water pumped in from a city line or a well! There are plenty of houses up here that have water tanks under the house that supply the water, and for these homes, water needs to be delivered! As a Chicago native, this was truly new to me. I was fortunate to live in a house with a tank 6 years ago, and it is amazing how quickly you can run out of water!! It makes showering, washing dishes, and laundry quit a challenge!
There are many businesses out there that help supply the water to these homes, and one such company (
Pioneer Wells) has offered to support our fundraiser by providing us with a gift certificate good for "
1 delivery no greater than 1500 gallons of water within 25 miles of Fairbanks"! So, maybe you can use this for yourself, or better yet, maybe you know someone that could use a little "water" gift this holiday season.
